Full 360 degree, panoramic view of Tokyo as seen from the new Sky Tree published

Sankei News published a fantastic panoramic photo of the Tokyo skyline from the newly constructed Tokyo Sky Tree, the tallest artificial structure in Japan as of 2010. It’s also the tallest tower in the world and the second tallest structure in the world after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

It stands 634 meters tall (2,080 feet) and will have its public opening on May 22nd, 2012.

This photo was taken from its first observation deck located at 375 meters (1,230 feet). There is another observation deck at 450 meters (1,476 feet).

For comparison:

  • Mt. Fuji is 3,776 meters (12,400 ft) tall and 105 km (65 mi)away
  • Tokyo Midtown is 248.1 meters (814 ft) tall, is 54 stories, and is the tallest office building in Tokyo
  • Roppongi Hills is 238 meter (781 ft) tall and also 54 stories
  • Tokyo Tower is 333 meters (1,090 ft) tall
