Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Kazuma Kiryu, once one of the most fearsome yakuza and known as the Dragon of the Dojima Family, comes back to Kamuro-cho after a ten year jail sentence. His return means many things to many different people, but to one girl, it means she may have a chance of finding her mother. To one of Kazuma's yakuza friends, however, it means a chance to settle a score.

Playing Kiryu is the badass, Kazuki Kitamura. This man is so badass that once, he refused to pay for his food because it didn't taste good. The cops came and he made the cop taste it for himself. The cop's impression was supposedly "so-so." Kitamura has become a highly recognized face from parts in Yaoh, Banbino, Azumi 2 and many more.

Goro Majima is played by Goro Kishitani. This powerful actor has been seen in One Missed Call, Returner, Taiyo no Uta, Aibo, among countless others.

Sho Aikawa is Noguchi. The flamboyant Aikawa is a Japanese icon with a constant presence on national TV. For his many roles in V Cinema along with the likes of Riki Takeuchi, he is known as the "Emperor of V Cinema."

Arakawa Yoshiyoshi in Yakuza like a Dragon

One of Japan's best character actors, Yoshiyoshi Arakawa portrays the gun seller. If you watch a lot of TV dramas, you can't avoid seeing him be his usual pudgy, annoying guy.

Kenichi Endo is the award-winning actor who portrays Imanishi. His filmography stretches for pages and include numerous serious dramatic works. Visitor Q, a movie Japan Flix carries, is another Miike film where Endo plays the lead.

Yoo Gong is the Korean actor playing Park. His first lead role was Hello My Teacher in 2005. He became a Korean national sensation for his lead role in The 1st Shop of Coffe Prince.

For a movie based on a video game, Like a Dragon is pretty damn good. Miike balances out good acting and at times over-the-top action sequences to create a pretty emotional action movie. This is a good alternative for Miike fans who aren’t fans of blood and gore.
